The San Telmo Market was born out of the need to supply provisions to the European community arriving in Buenos Aires. The mastermind behind this construction was architect Juan Antonio Buschiazzo, who had a strong Italian influence and was responsible for several important buildings in the city. Walking through the market takes us back to a beautiful, elegant, and special bygone era.
But the architecture of this place is not the only thing that amazes. Inside, you’ll find textile crafts shops, mate cups, various antiques, furniture, tableware, decorations, magazines, and numerous souvenirs and mementos of Buenos Aires.
