Salteño Toffee Alfajor
Ingredients
6 Egg yolks
6 Egg whites
1 tablespoon of Lard
2 tablespoons of White vinegar
1 cup of Anise
1 tablespoon of Conac
200 grams of Flour
3 tablespoons of Baking powder
250 grams of Cane honey
250 grams of Sugar

Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare the recipe, first whisk the egg yolks with the melted fat in a bowl.
Step 2 : Then, add the vinegar, anise, conac, and sifted flour along with the baking powder.
Step 3 : If necessary, add a little more flour so the dough doesn't stick to the hands.
Step 4 : Work with your fingers until the dough forms balls, then let it rest for 10 minutes and roll out into thin sheets.
Step 5 : Pierce with a fork and bake.
Step 6 : In a saucepan, mix the honey with the sugar, bring to the heat, and boil until reaching the hard ball stage.
Step 7 : Separately, beat the egg whites to stiff peaks and gradually add the boiling sugar syrup.
